Internships

Washington, DC

In my Washington, DC office, internships run throughout the fall, spring, and summer semesters. The hours are flexible to accommodate students' schedules, but generally run 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. when Congress is in session, and 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. when not in session.

The Office of Congressman Sean Patrick Maloney (NY-18), member of the House Intelligence Committee and Chair of the Coast Guard and Maritime Transportation Subcommittee, is seeking qualified interns year-round. Ideal candidates will be highly-motivated, detail-orientated, and show strong verbal and written communication skills. Daily tasks include, but are not limited to, answering phones, logging constituent correspondence, greeting visitors, working on research projects, providing Capitol tours, and attending Congressional briefings and hearings. Interns will complete administrative, legislative, and press assignments at the request of the staff and the Member. Female, minority, and LGBTQ+ candidates are strongly encouraged to apply.

Seasonal Internships take place between the following months:

Fall: September – December

Winter/Spring: January – May

Summer: May – August

MUST BE RISING COLLEGE SOPHOMORES OR ABOVE.
