Washington, D.C. – Congressman Sean Patrick Maloney released the following statement on Black History Month and the anniversary of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP).
WASHINGTON – Representative Sean Patrick Maloney called upon House Republican leadership to quickly pass the bipartisan Senate-passed Violence Against Women Act (VAWA). Earlier today, the Senate passed the Violence Against Women Act by a bipartisan vote of 78 to 22. Representative Maloney is currently a co-sponsor of H.R. 11, the House version of the recently passed Senate VAWA bill.
Congressman Sean Patrick Maloney (NY-18) joined with Republicans to support the “Require a Plan Act” requiring President Obama to submit a plan to balance the budget. With the support of only a handful of Democrats, the “Require a Plan Act” passed the House by a vote of 253-167.
