Funds to Replace Outdated Personal Protective Equipment
U.S. Senators Charles E. Schumer and Kirsten Gillibrand, and U.S. Representative Sean Patrick Maloney announced the Fairview Fire District is set to receive $158,948 in federal funding to replace outdated personal protective equipment, including updated SCBA breathing apparatus units. The money was allocated through the Federal Emergency Management Agency’s (FEMA) Assistance to Firefighters Grant (AFG) Program.

Representative Sean Patrick Maloney (NY-18) voted in support of the Federal Agriculture Reform and Risk Management (FARRM) Act of 2013 which includes key provisions to invest in the Hudson Valley’s economy. This legislation, which passed the Senate by a vote of 83-14, helps secure and repair our nation’s dams, invests in our critical water resources infrastructure, and invests in flood risk protection programs against extreme weather events like Hurricanes Irene and Sandy.
