Highlights Important Registration Deadline for Victims Compensation Fund

While participating in a Remembrance Ceremony on the steps of the Capitol, Rep. Sean Patrick Maloney marked the anniversary of the September 11th attacks. Maloney also urged all eligible first responders and survivors to apply for economic compensation through the 9/11 James Zadroga Act’s Victim Compensation Fund before the deadline expires.

Town of New Windsor to Receive Nearly $2 Million Investment
Two years after Hurricane Irene devastated the Hudson Valley, Representative Sean Patrick Maloney announced a nearly $2 million investment for the Town of New Windsor to repair severe damage caused by Hurricane Irene. This disaster assistance will help restore Butternut Drive which collapsed due to an embankment failure.

Representative Sean Patrick Maloney announced today that Department of Defense Secretary Chuck Hagel has reduced civilian defense employee furloughs from 11 days to 6 days. Across the country, approximately 640,000 civilian employees are entering their fifth week of furloughs due to the damaging budget cuts from last Congress known as “sequestration”, including employees at the United States Military Academy at West Point and at the New York Air National Guard's 105th Airlift Wing at Stewart Air National Guard Base.

The Bipartisan Student Loan Certainty Act allows students to lock in today’s historic low interest rates for the life of the loan and includes caps on future rate increases. Launches Printable Hurricane Preparedness Guide
With Hurricane season in full swing throughout the Northeast, Rep. Sean Patrick Maloney participated in two Hurricane Preparedness Workshops and launched an online resource page and a printable Hurricane Preparedness guide. June 1st marked the beginning of another active hurricane season, scheduled to last through November, and the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), has recently predicted an above average hurricane season. The past few years have seen devastating natural disasters like Hurricane Irene, Tropical Storm Lee, and Superstorm Sandy.
