Newburgh Area FBI Office Would Invest in Our Community and Make Our Neighborhoods Safer
After years of delay, Representative Sean Patrick Maloney announced his support for a new FBI office at Stewart Airport. This week, Maloney urged the Federal Bureau of Investigation Director Robert Muller and GSA Northeast Regional Administrator Denise Pease to expedite this relocation of the FBI New York Field Office’s Hudson Valley Resident Agency to Stewart Airport, in the Town of New Windsor.

Representative Sean Patrick Maloney issued the following statement in response to reports of IBM’s decision to lay off employees which could include the East Fishkill and Poughkeepsie locations. In addition to partnering with the New York Department of Labor Rapid Response team, Maloney announced that that he will begin working with other elected officials and community leaders to create a Community Transition Team that brings community leaders and organizations together to leverage resources to help families through these difficult situations.
At the invitation of Representative Sean Patrick Maloney, U.S. Environmental Protection Agency Regional Administrator Judith A. Enck joined Maloney to visit three Superfund sites in the Hudson Valley to assess progress on the cleanup of contamination at these hazardous waste sites.

Demands Congress to Support USPS Reform Legislation, Avert Latest Manufactured Crisis
After touring the Mid-Hudson Postal and Distribution Center in Newburgh on Friday, Representative Sean Patrick Maloney joined postal workers and Debby Szeredy, President of the Mid-Hudson Area Local, to rally against USPS decision to move some mail processing to Albany. It was announced in 2012 that the Newburgh facility would face future consolidation. Since taking office, Rep. Maloney has been fighting to minimize consolidation’s impact on local jobs.

Funds to Replace Outdated Personal Protective Equipment
U.S. Senators Charles E. Schumer and Kirsten Gillibrand, and U.S. Representative Sean Patrick Maloney announced the Fairview Fire District is set to receive $158,948 in federal funding to replace outdated personal protective equipment, including updated SCBA breathing apparatus units. The money was allocated through the Federal Emergency Management Agency’s (FEMA) Assistance to Firefighters Grant (AFG) Program.
