PHOTO RELEASE: Maloney Tours Downtown Wappingers Falls, Meets with Small Business Owners in the Hudson Valley

Press Release

Wappingers Falls – Friday, Rep. Sean Patrick Maloney (NY-18) toured small businesses in downtown Wappingers Falls, the fourth stop on his tour of Hudson Valley’s historic downtown business districts.

Rep. Maloney partnered with local leadership to tour newly reopened businesses and discuss the challenges small business owners have faced during the pandemic, the reopening process, and ways the federal government can help through the recovery.

“New York has taken the biggest hit during this pandemic - and our small businesses are hurting. I’ve visited mom and pop shops across the Hudson Valley, listened to small business owners about their needs during this pandemic, and worked to get them the resources they need,” said Rep. Sean Patrick Maloney. “The folks I spoke with in Wappingers Falls showed me just how resilient New Yorkers are. Our small business owners are being safe, they're being smart, and we've got to keep doing everything we can in Washington to make sure they have the resources to continue to do so.”

Rep. Maloney recently announced the Paycheck Protection Program, which was established through Congress’s Coronavirus Aid, Relief and Economic Security (CARES) Act and administered through the Small Business Administration (SBA), helped over 11,000 small businesses and nonprofits in New York’s 18th Congressional District retain 96,488 workers on their payrolls during the pandemic.
