PHOTO RELEASE: Maloney Recognizes Eagle Scouts at Court of Honor
Newburgh, NY – Today, Rep. Sean Patrick Maloney (NY-18) recognized Eagle Scouts Clayton Hadlock and Andrew Lucassen at the Boy Scouts of America Troop 1 Lewisboro Court of Honor Ceremony. The distinguished Eagle Scout ranking is the highest achievement of leadership within the Boy Scouts of America. Approximately 5 percent of all Boy Scouts have earned the honor.
Eagle Scout Courts of Honor are fully developed celebrations recognizing Scouts who have attained Scouting’s highest rank.  Rep. Maloney attended the ceremony and led Andrew and Clayton in the recitation of their inaugural Eagle Scout Oath.
“The Hudson Valley is lucky to have these young men. Scouting helps build character and instills leadership skills in our nation’s youth – skills that they will use for a lifetime,” said Rep. Maloney. “I am proud of Clayton and Andrew for receiving this prestigious honor, and I thank them for their work to improve their hometowns. I have no doubt that they will continue being shining examples of perseverance and integrity in their communities.”
For his Eagle Scout Community Service Project, Clayton Hadlock, helped refurbish a camping site for the Town of Lewisboro to make it safer and more enjoyable for residents by removing debris, clearing the trail leading to the site, and removing and replacing seven platforms
Andrew Lucassen helped improve accessibility to the Nature Conservancy’s Mt. Holly Preserve’s entrance and trailhead by creating a new kiosk at the entrance, cleaning the trail, building benches, and repairing a stone wall.
