Maloney Statement on Trump’s Disastrous 2021 Budget Cuts to Healthcare for Hudson Valley Seniors and Families

Washington, D.C.Rep. Sean Patrick Maloney (NY-18) released the following statement in reaction to President Trump’s Fiscal Year 2021 budget proposal, which would slash federal funding for Medicare and Medicaid, SNAP food assistance, Social Security, and several other federal programs New York families rely on.

“The president is trying to pull the wool over our eyes. Just last week in his State of the Union address, he promised to protect Medicare and Social Security, but today he released a budget that would slash the benefits millions of New Yorkers have earned through years of hard work.

“His budget puts powerful special interests and the mega-rich before Hudson Valley families, students, and seniors. I won’t stand idly by as he tries to cut health insurance for children, deny access to health care for millions, eliminate student loan programs, and give handouts to wealthy corporations  - all while saddling our kids and grandkids with the bill.”
