Maloney Statement on Passage of Bipartisan Senate Immigration Reform

Jun 27, 2013
Press Release

Washington, D.C. –  Representative Sean Patrick Maloney released the following statement today after the U.S. Senate passed the “Border Security, Economic Opportunity, and Immigration Modernization Act,” a comprehensive immigration reform bill, by a vote of 68-32:

“Our immigration system is clearly broken and needs reform, but year after year Congress has failed to do anything about it.  The Senate has passed an overwhelmingly bipartisan bill securing our borders and allowing those in the shadows to earn their citizenship – it’s time for the House to move forward with commonsense reform.”
