Maloney Statement on Anniversary of Lilly Ledbetter Fair Pay Act

Jan 29, 2013
Press Release

Congressman Sean Patrick Maloney released the following statement on the 4th Anniversary of the Lilly Ledbetter Fair Pay Act which protects women and other workers by restoring employee’s rights to challenge pay discrimination based on sex, race, and age:

“Across the country and in New York, women earn less than men. That’s just wrong. As the father of two young girls, I want to ensure my daughters grow up in a world where women and men get the same pay to do the same job,” said Congressman Sean Patrick Maloney. “When women earn equal pay for equal work, it strengthens families, grows the economy and helps the middle class.”
