Maloney Commemorates 75th Anniversary of D-Day in Normandy

NORMANDY, FRANCE – Today, Rep. Sean Patrick Maloney (NY-18) joined a bipartisan delegation of Members of Congress, servicemembers,  dignitaries, and veterans and their families in Normandy to observe the 75th anniversary of the Allied D-Day invasion. Following the ceremony, Rep. Maloney released the following statement:

“It was breathtaking to stand on the beaches of Normandy and honor our brave servicemembers and allied forces who changed the world forever on D-Day, 75 years ago today,” said Rep. Maloney. “Their heroism on that fateful day liberated the world from the grip of a murderous tyrant. We must remember our fallen and thank our veterans for their unyielding dedication to the freedom of all people.”

While there are few living veterans who stormed the beaches of Normandy 75 years ago today to defeat the Nazi Regime, their sacrifice serves as a reminder of the cost of freedom. Rep. Maloney joined his fellow Congressmembers to salute these heroes and lift up their stories.
