Maloney Announces Winner of 2021 Congressional Art Competition

Newburgh, NY – Today, Rep. Sean Patrick Maloney (NY-18) announced the winner of the 2021 Congressional Art Competition.

This year’s Grand Prize winner is Lissette Conklin, of Monroe-Woodbury High School. Her winning charcoal drawing is titled “Boots.” Kimberly Marquez won this year’s Facebook Fan Favorite for “Boy Under the Bridge.”

“Despite the disruptions and challenges so many students faced this year, we had a record number of submissions. Nearly 100 student artists here in the Hudson Valley participated in this great tradition. Thank you to every student who submitted their artwork. I am proud to represent so many talented young artists,” said Rep. Maloney. “Congratulations to Lissette for taking home the Grand Prize and to Kimberly for winning the Facebook Fan Favorite. I look forward to seeing Lissette’s charcoal drawing displayed in the halls of Congress.”

Lissette’s artwork, “Boots,” will be displayed for a year in the U.S. Capitol in Washington D.C. All participants will receive a certificate. The album for the 2021 Congressional Art Competition entries can be found on Rep. Maloney’s Facebook page
