Maloney Announces Grant for Homeless Veterans Job Training Program in Dutchess County

POUGHKEEPSIE - Today, Rep. Sean Patrick Maloney (NY-18) announced the Department of Labor is awarding Mental Health America of Dutchess County, located in Poughkeepsie, a $150,000 grant through the Homeless Veterans’ Reintegration Program. The grant funds will be used to connect homeless veterans in the Hudson Valley with job training services.

Rep. Maloney worked with Mental Health America of Dutchess County’s Vet2Vet program in the grant application process.

“A good-paying, meaningful job has the power to change the life of a homeless veteran. This grant will give our veterans the job and skills training they need, and connect our business owners with great employees from right here in the Hudson Valley,” said Rep. Sean Patrick Maloney.

Mental Health America of Dutchess County is a nonprofit organization offering support to individuals and families with concerns about mental health and wellbeing. The nonprofit also offers programs for veterans spanning from mental health services to job training, and is staffed by fellow veterans.
