Maloney Announces Agriculture Advisory Committee Priorities for the Hudson Valley
Representative Sean Patrick Maloney today released a report issued by the NY-18 Agriculture Advisory Committee that details priorities for the Hudson Valley. One week from today, the House Agriculture Committee will consider the 2013 Farm Bill.
“Our farmers are critical to growing our local economy and creating jobs, and it’s clear that Washington has a lot of rules that don’t look out for them,” said Representative Sean Patrick Maloney. “The folks on this committee know how to make the Farm Bill better, and together we can make it work for business and farmers in the Hudson Valley.”
“I know he will work with his colleagues, Democrats and Republicans, to bring the voice of his constituents into this year’s Farm Bill. We look forward to a continued dialogue with Representative Maloney on all the passage of this important legislation,” said advisory board member Tom Pahucki.
“It’s great to see Representative Maloney focusing on issues important to farmers across the Hudson Valley,” said advisory board member Sharon Soons of Soons Orchards. “Research programs that help protect against problems like invasive species and support for new farmers are vital to the region’s agriculture.”
The NY-18 Agriculture Advisory Committee consists of dozens of members of the agriculture community from all across Dutchess, Orange, Putnam and Westchester.
