WASHINGTON, D.C. – Congressman Sean Patrick Maloney (NY-18) received his second committee assignment for the 113th Congress and will be serving on the House Agriculture Committee.
"I fought for this assignment because Hudson Valley farmers create thousands of jobs and millions of dollars in economic activity for our region,” said Congressman Sean Patrick Maloney. “I look forward to working across the aisle with folks like Congressman Chris Gibson to ensure that Congress passes a Farm Bill that protects family farms in the Hudson Valley and continues to fund critical agricultural disaster relief programs.”
On the Agriculture Committee, Maloney will fight for policies to support our nation’s farmers and ensure that Americans have access to the world’s safest food and agricultural products. The committee tackles a wide variety of issues ranging from agricultural research and development, rural economic development, crop insurance, food safety, international trade, and commodities regulation.
Maloney’s appointment to the Agriculture Committee follows his appointment to the House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee last month.
