After releasing a detailed report on local transportation and infrastructure challenges in the Hudson Valley, Representative Sean Patrick Maloney (NY-18) outlined urgent transportation concerns to New York State Department of Transportation (NYSDOT) Commissioner Joan McDonald shared by 1,800 constituents who answered an online survey issued by Rep. Maloney’s office. In addition, Rep. Maloney launched an online form to encourage folks to continue to report local transportation infrastructure problems including potholes, cracks and safety hazards.

Following a survey completed by nearly 1,800 Hudson Valley commuters and businesses about the local transportation and infrastructure challenges, Representative Sean Patrick Maloney (NY-18) released a Hudson Valley Transportation and Infrastructure Report highlighting ideas and facts gathered from the survey and policy recommendations to address the concerns. In addition, Rep. Maloney will be sending a letter to New York Department of Transportation outlining the specific transportation concerns raised by residents.

Representatives Sean Patrick Maloney (NY-18), Nita Lowey (NY-17) and Eliot Engel (NY-16) announced that the Westchester Community Opportunity Program (WestCOP) will receive $1,916,631 from the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) to prevent at-risk veterans from becoming homeless, and rapidly re-house those who have recently fallen into homelessness throughout Westchester, Putnam, Dutchess, Rockland, Orange and Ulster counties.

Representatives Sean Patrick Maloney (NY-18) and Chris Gibson (NY-19) announced that Hudson River Housing will receive $511,035 from the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) to prevent at-risk veterans from becoming homeless and rapidly re-house those who have recently fallen into homelessness throughout the Hudson Valley. This investment will serve 125 Hudson Valley veterans and their families through the Supportive Services for Veteran Families (SSVF) Program, which provides a range of services that promote housing stability and play a key role in connecting veterans and their families to VA services such as mental health care and other benefits.

Representatives Sean Patrick Maloney (NY-18) and Chris Gibson (NY-19) announced that the Arlington Fire District will receive $130,500 for an investment in new life saving equipment. This investment, through the federal Assistance to Firefighters Grant (AFG) Program, will replace outdated equipment with the purchase of new advanced life support monitors and defibrillators used by first responders to provide basic and advanced life support to patients in life-threatening conditions.
